shh.cut Privacy Policy
Effective: September 20, 2026
shh.cut (the “app”) is built to keep your photos yours. This page explains what the app handles and what leaves your device.
1. No account, no server
The app has no sign-up and no login, and never asks for your name, phone number or email.
Your choices (Look, stamp text and style, four-cut frame, photo ratio, theme) are stored only on your device.
2. Camera and photos
- Taking photos: the camera feed is processed on your device only. Photos are never uploaded, and the app keeps no copy of its own.
- Saving: tapping Save adds the finished photo to your Photos library. The app asks for add-only access and never reads your library.
- Album import: only the photos you pick in the system picker are handed to the app.
- Sharing: when you share, the photo goes to the app you choose (Instagram, Messages and so on), which then applies its own policy.
- Face detection: with skin smoothing on, Apple's on-device face detection locates faces in the photo. Nothing leaves the device and no face data is stored or used to identify anyone.
3. What is sent off the device
| Recipient | What is sent | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase Analytics | Feature usage (photos taken, saved and shared, the Look chosen, whether an ad was shown), app language, a random per-install identifier, device model, OS version, approximate country or region | Usage statistics and improvements |
| Google AdMob | Device information, approximate location from the IP address, ad impressions and clicks, ad SDK performance and error data, and the advertising identifier (IDFA) if you allow tracking | Serving ads and measuring their performance |
- What is sent never includes your photos or the stamp text you type.
4. Ads and tracking
- The app is free and runs on Google AdMob ads. There are no ads on the camera, at the moment of capture, or while you pick a Look.
- A full-screen ad appears only after several saves, at the moment you return to the camera.
- Rewarded ads appear only when you tap “Watch an ad” yourself, for the weekly Look, stamp styles or four-cut frames.
- After your first saved photo, the app asks once for App Tracking Transparency permission. Declining changes nothing about what the app can do.
- You can change it any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent tool collects ad consent; you can revisit it from “Privacy” at the top of the camera screen.
5. International transfers
Using those Google services may transfer data outside your country, to Google LLC (United States and other Google data center locations). See https://support.google.com/policies. To stop it, delete the app.
6. Children
The app is not aimed at children under 14 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
7. Your choices
- Delete stored settings: delete the app.
- Delete saved photos: delete them in the Photos app.
- Change tracking: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- Stop analytics and ad data: delete the app.
8. Sharing with others
Beyond the services listed in section 3 and the sharing you start yourself, the app gives your information to no one.
